Three male strippers and a Mother’s Day brawl among their drunken women fans in a pub car park

A DOZEN drunken women brawled in a pub car park after being treated to a male strip show – on Mother’s Day.

About 100 cheering customers had packed the pub at 3pm to see three muscular models dressed as an odd-jobs man, a police officer... and ‘Sergeant Sex’ the soldier.

But seven hours after the show began – and after rather a lot of drinking – some of the women put on a spectacle of their own by having a punch-up.

Police were called and two women aged 24 and 30 were arrested and given £90 fixed penalty notices for being drunk and disorderly.

The free event, hosted by the Woodman Arms in Middlesbrough, had been advertised with posters featuring a man taking off his T-shirt to reveal his toned physique and the slogan: ‘Treat your mum to something different.’

First up was odd-jobs man Glen Watson, 23, who performed a 15-minute set for the ladies.

Johnny Hunter, 28, the stripping policeman who performed next, said he was surprised by the 3pm start time. He added: ‘I thought it was strange having strippers that early. It was rowdy. They were cheering and screaming and whistling.

‘Some were game and were up for it. They weren’t shy. After me was Sergeant Sex the soldier.’

Mr Hunter said he was warned it was ‘wild’ before he went out to take off his clothes. He added: ‘When I got there the bouncer told me “you haven’t seen nowt like it, it’s wild in there”.’ The two- hour show involved audience participation, with women getting into a variety of X-rated positions with the strippers as the excitement grew.

The strippers, each paid £100, left at 6pm, according to The Sun, but many of the customers stayed on drinking.

Hours later, with much of the audience the worse for wear, trouble began inside and then erupted in the car park. One local described the scene as ‘mayhem’, adding: ‘They were all hammered, some screaming and others in tears.

‘There was a lot of pushing and shoving going on but it didn’t look like anyone was in danger of getting hurt – apart from falling over. There were a couple of blokes out there as well, but mostly women.’

Barman Dave French said regulars were not involved in the violence, which he said took place ‘long after the event finished’.

He said bar staff helped to ‘control the situation’ while they waited for police to arrive. Some regulars criticised the show as ‘cheap, chavvy and tacky’.

Karen Churchill said: ‘Mother’s Day should be about spending the day with your children – not going out and getting drunk and fighting. The meaning of Mother’s Day has gone now.’

And Gabrielle Green, 23, an actress who starred in CBBC show Wolfblood, tweeted: ‘ Imagine, I’ve come home to take our mam out for Mother’s Day and she’s got me watching f****** strippers.’

A picture posted by the pub on its Facebook page showed dozens of women enjoying the entertainment – with a group gathered around the odd-jobs man.

Witness Jenny Fleming said on Facebook afterwards: ‘ Carnage, they’re worse than the men.’ But another member of the audience, Lisa O’Neill, commented: ‘It was a brilliant night. The fight had nothing to do with strippers, it was hours later.’

A video on a local newspaper website showed police leading a woman into a marked van with at least six other officers at the scene.

A Cleveland Police spokesman said: ‘Police were called to the Woodman Arms at around 10.25pm on Sunday night to reports of up to a dozen women fighting.

‘It started inside the pub and then moved outside. Two women, aged 24 and 30, were arrested for being drunk and disorderly in a public place and were issued with fixed penalty notices.’
