Billy is the biggest lamb... baa none!
FEWER things gladden the heart more at springtime than tiny newborn lambs skipping over a pasture.
But over at Steve Booth’s farm, one of the new arrivals is less sprightly and more ... strapping.
That would be Billy, who is one of Britain’s biggest-ever spring lambs, after he was born last week at a similar weight to a toddler. The super-sized sheep tipped the scales at 24lbs 7oz – around three times the size of a normal lamb.
One of his siblings from the same litter, nicknamed Titch, weighed in at just 4lbs 4oz. A lamb usually weighs around 8-10lb on average.
Billy was born at Mr Booth’s farm in Upper Broughton, Leicestershire, after a birth that took over an hour.
