PICK OF THE DAY
PILGRIMAGE: THE ROAD TO SANTIAGO, 9PM, BBC2
FOR centuries, pilgrims have walked the 500-mile Camino de Santiago to the shrine of St James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in north-west Spain. In this threepart series, seven famous faces — Debbie McGee, Raphael Rowe, Heather Small, Ed Byrne (pictured with walking stick carver Pablito), the Rev Kate Bottley, J.J. Chalmers and Neil Morrissey — spend 15 days as modern-day pilgrims. They will be living and walking together on a journey that will test them both mentally and physically, some to the point of exhaustion. Will the experience change how they look at faith — and even
themselves?
