THE STORY BEHIND

Geodesic Drinks Cabinet

-

THAT LOOKS FUTURISTIC:

It’s a modern take on antique 16th century Italian Globe drinks cabinets.

CHIN CHIN:

Indeed. The interior is gilded in 24-carat gold leaf so your gin bottles will twinkle invitingly.

WHAT’S THE EXTERIOR MADE FROM?

It’s veneered in cherry wood triangles, with tapered legs in burnt sycamore and custom-made brass feet.

WHO DESIGNED IT?

Craftsman and former policeman Grant Palmer, who set up Dovetail & Rabbet furniture makers in the Scottish seaside town of North Berwick.

EXPENSIVE?

Yes. The cabinets are made to order and priced from £1,600. Perhaps start with the serving boards made from Scottish sycamore, which are a more modest £45, dovetailand rabbet.com.
