GATTUSO WAS RIGHT TO FEEL AGGRIEVED

- GRAHAM POLL the official line

DANNY WELBECK certainly went down easily after brushing past Milan’s Ricardo Rodriguez. It appeared to be the extra assistant behind the goal who was fooled by the Arsenal striker’s theatrical fall. Fiery Milan coach Rino Gattuso (right) made his feelings clear, entering the pitch at half-time and leaving the official in no doubt what he thought about the decision. Replays showed that Welbeck’s trailing right leg might have just been caught by the Milan defender so it would not have been right for referee Jonas Eriksson to caution him for simulation. However, to give a penalty was a travesty.
