Lenders that link their finances to bitcoin should expect a crackdown, the Bank of England has warned.

Very few City firms have any involvement in the cryptocurrency market, but the Bank said it would treat exchanges where bitcoin is traded like any other hub if it goes mainstream – meaning they would have to pass strict health checks.
