CONTE: CHELSEA FAILED ME IN TRANSFER MARKET

- By SAMI MOKBEL

ANTONIO CONTE fired a stunning blast at Chelsea’s board yesterday in another indication he is heading for the exit. The Italian has been critical of the club’s transfer policy all season and, when asked whether Champions League qualification will have an impact on the quality of player Chelsea will be able to attract this summer, Conte replied: ‘Last season, we won the title. And then . . . I repeat, last season we won the title and you saw our transfer market.’ Conte suggested that Chelsea, who face Leicester in an FA Cup quarter-final, could keep the likes of Eden Hazard regardless. ‘Two years ago Chelsea finished 10th,’ he said. ‘And they decided to continue to play for this club. ‘Will they look to leave? I don’t know. This isn’t a question for me.’
