Capita bonus clawback

THE ex-boss of struggling outsourcer Capita is expected to be stripped of his £845,000 bonus.

The pay committee is expected to punish Andy Parker after successor Jonathan Lewis launched an emergency overhaul of the firm in January.

Parker, 49, left last September and was entitled to a bonus worth 200pc of his salary. No decision has yet been taken, but he is expected to be stripped of some or all of it.

Capita’s shares nose- dived around 42pc in January as Lewis set out a £700m rights issue, £210m dividend suspension and said he planned to sell off underperforming businesses.

Lewis said Capita, which employs 70,000 and works for banks, local authorities and the NHS, had become too complex and driven by short-termism.

Capita said 2018 profits would now fall short of expectations, at between £270m and £300m

Capita runs the Government’s Jobseekers Allowance helpline, administers teachers’ pensions and provides an electronic tagging service for the ministry of Justice. It declined to comment.
