PUT down the guacamole and step away from your smashed avocado on toast – there’s a sweeter way to show your love for the fruit.
Waitrose has produced an avocado- shaped Easter egg aimed at millennials obsessed with the fashionable food.
But you have to be eggceptionally quick to get one – as the £8 treat has already sold out online and in stores across the country.
Waitrose is rushing a restocking operation for what has been the most popular own-brand egg in its 114-year history.
The egg – which is not avocado-flavoured – is designed to look like half of the fruit, with a Belgian dark chocolate shell, a white chocolate middle with natural green colouring to mimic the flesh, and a cocoa-dusted ‘stone’.
