Red Ken repeats his Hitler claims
KEN Livingstone has again insisted that Hitler supported Zionism – despite being suspended by Labour over the claims.
Reports suggested the former London mayor could be readmitted to the party in a month’s time, having been banned in 2016 over the controversial remarks.
But he yesterday told the Independent website that Hitler had shipped Jewish people over to Israel, saying: ‘That is Zionism.’ Mr Livingstone denied his comments were ‘incendiary’, adding that many Jewish people agreed with him.
But the veteran Left-winger’s remarks were condemned by Jewish leaders and his fellow MPs, and his possible return to Labour will do little to allay concerns over anti-Semitism in the party.
Mr Livingstone said the anger against him was part of a plot to try to undermine Jeremy Corbyn’s leadership.
Wading into the Russia row, he also questioned whether the Kremlin was behind the Salisbury poisoning – and also suggested the CIA assassinated President Kennedy in 1963.
