Dr Who? Eccleston omits TV role on CV

-

ACTOR Christopher Eccleston, who plays Macbeth at the RSC, omits any mention of Doctor Who from his curriculum vitae in the theatre programme — the part that made him a household name.

More than 20 of his TV shows are listed, including gritty dramas such as Our Friends In The North and Cracker. Eccleston was cast as the Time Lord in 2005 with Billie Piper as his assistant, but he left after one series with friends claiming he quit because he was overworked and exhausted.

The Salford- born actor recently claimed class prejudice at the BBC cost him a role in the Hollow Crown series.
