PAUL CLEMENT is expected to be named as Reading manager in the next 24 hours after Jaap Stam was fired yesterday. Clement, 46, was sacked as Swansea boss in December. Reading had planned a summer exit for Stam, but the board acted after the club fell to 20th in the Championship, three points above the drop zone.

HARRY WINKS and Mason Holgate are out of the England Under 21 squad. Tottenham midfielder Winks has returned to his club for assessment of his ankle injury while Holgate is back with Everton for minor ankle surgery. They miss Saturday’s friendly against Romania and Tuesday’s Euro 2019 qualifier with Ukraine.

RAVEL MORRISON, 25, the former West Ham midfielder who now plays for Mexican side Atlas, is in Jamaica to register as an international with the Caribbean country.
