Miserable start for McLeish
ALEX McLEISH’S second spell as Scotland manager got off to a disappointing defeat as his side struggled to impress against World Cup-bound Costa Rica at Hampden. Manchester United’s Scott McTominay, watched by Jose Mourinho in the stand, was one of four debutants in a disjointed first-half performance. Prompted by Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson Scotland did improve and their best effort came in the 65th minute when Matt Ritchie’s shot was well saved by Real Madrid’s Keylor Navas. Striker Marco Urena scored Costa Rica’s winner in the 14th minute.
