Police officer hurt in 3ft sword attack

A SUSPECT has been arrested after a police officer was slashed with a 3ft sword.

The 23-year-old man is being questioned after the violent confrontation in the front garden of a house in Manchester at 1.50pm yesterday.

The officer is in hospital with serious injuries following the incident in the Whalley Range area.

A witness said police tried to Taser the attacker but he became more aggressive and hit two officers.
