Tory MP cleared over sex claims
THE Conservatives have cleared a former minister of sexual harassment claims made by a fellow Tory.
MP Dan Poulter was accused of putting his hand up female MPs’ skirts. The Central Suffolk and North Ipswich MP was investigated following a formal complaint by backbencher Andrew Bridgen.
But the party has now said there is ‘insufficient evidence’ against him. Dr Poulter, who was an undersecretary in the health department until 2015, said the five months since the ‘ scurrilous’ allegations were made had been ‘incredibly difficult’.
