CHARLENE TILTON — Lucy Ewing

THEN: Charlene joined Dallas as Hagman’s wild-child niece, Lucy Ewing, at the age of 17. An off-screen family friend of Hagman, her ‘surrogate father’, the show brought her stability. ‘Dallas was so much more than a television phenomenon to me,’ she says. ‘It was my family. I grew up with a mentally ill mother and no father figure in my life.’ On screen, Lucy Ewing was altogether less grateful, sleeping her way through the show’s available — and unavailable — men.

NOW: Charlene, 59, remained on the show until 1990. Despite dabbling with a pop music career, notching up some 500 magazine covers and appearing as Lucy in a Dallas spin-off in 2012, things never really took off, although she did appear in UK reality television shows The Farm in 2005 and Dancing on Ice in 2012.
