STEVE KANALY — Ray Krebbs

-

THEN:

Vietnam veteran Kanaly says he went for the role of Krebbs — he of the cowboy hat and gingham shirt — because Krebbs appealed to the common man. It was later revealed he was Jock Ewing’s illegitimate son, and therefore one of the Ewing clan, whether he liked it or not. Kanaly’s pay packet rocketed with the discovery from around £2,000 to £15,000 per episode.

NOW:

A father- of-two and grandfather of four, Kanaly, 72, lives on a ranch in California with his wife of 48 years. He’s had modest success in series such as All My Children and forged a career as a watercolour artist. He appears to prioritise his personal life, exercising every day, playing the piano and crediting his long marriage as a source of happiness.
