Derby sue fired CEO for £6.8m

SAM RUSH, Derby County’s former chief executive, is being sued by the club for £6.8million. Derby are pursuing Rush, who was dismissed last year for gross misconduct, in a High Court civil action over unauthoris­ed scouting and consultanc­y agreements, transfer fees, wages and agents’ fees. It is understood that deals involving Rush’s former employers, the Wasserman Media Group, are also being looked into. A spokesman for Rush, who has a £2m counter-claim for breach of contract, said he ‘strongly denies any wrongdoing’. FULL STORY: PAGE 78
