Soccer fan scores a £9m Lotto win
NORMALLY, nothing can top a Leyton Orient win for keen fan Paul Long.
But scooping £9.3 million on the lottery after buying a ticket because he felt lucky following his team’s first home victory in three months has put a new perspective on things.
He said he pleased with Leyton Orient’s 3-0 defeat of Woking on Saturday, but ‘not half as chuffed as I’m feeling now’.
Mr Long, 55, intends putting ‘beaming grins’ on the faces of his three children – who will be ‘secure for life’ – and friends who will be treated to handouts, holidays and trips to restaurants.
His own plans are a little less ambitious – upgrading his six-year-old Ford Fiesta to a new Ford EcoSport and splashing some cash at the shops.
