The £30 fan heater was spotted whirring away beneath an ornate console table as the monarch met Kersti Kaljulaid in one of the reception rooms. President Kaljulaid, 48, is on a three-day visit to Britain. The Queen’s fondness for frugality was last on show three weeks ago when she met Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. A heater – just one bar glowing – could be seen inside an ornate fireplace.
