PAROLE BOARD STAFF IN SECRECY STORM
ANOTHER row has broken out after it emerged the three Parole Board members who made the flawed decision to release Worboys were set to keep their jobs – and will be allowed to stay anonymous.
That their identities can be kept secret will raise further questions over the transparency of the board.
It is also highly unlikely any of them will face disciplinary action. Professor Hardwick, the chair who took responsibility for the controversial decision and was forced to resign, said the panel that considered the case was chaired by ‘one of our most experienced women members’.
In his resignation letter he said he supported board members in the ‘very difficult individual decisions they make’, adding: ‘I will not pass the buck to those who work under me.’
