THE LOVE STORY SET IN HARRODS

-

AT The heart of the bigscreen adaptation is a love story.

Mr McGregor’s rabbit-hating great- nephew Tom, played by Domhnall Gleeson ( right), is a former manager of harrods who moves to the country and falls in love with Beatrix’s character.

When he also loses the battle of the lettuce patch, he heads back to the city.

Realising he has driven him away from Bea, Peter and his cousin Benjamin head to harrods to persuade him to come back.

The store was chosen because it’s also part of Peter Rabbit history. When author Beatrix Potter lived in nearby Kensington, she would do her shopping there. however it wasn’t easy to film at the department store, which has more than 7,500 staff and is usually packed with tourists and shoppers.

To fit in the shoot, the crew shot over three nights from 9pm to 9am when the store reopened.
