DON’T CRY FOR AUSSIES
YOU may remember I wrote in these pages about the increase in bad behaviour in cricket less than three weeks ago. Look at what’s happened since. I don’t have any sympathy for the players involved. It’s sad to see, of course, but it’s been coming — an accident waiting to happen. I know outgoing Australia coach Darren Lehmann pretty well. He was a belligerent player and an engaging character who was quick to have a beer after a day’s play. But he has come to understand this has happened because of a culture he, in part, created. It will be down to someone else to reinvent the team. It should be Justin Langer or Jason Gillespie as far as I’m concerned.
