COUNTY CRICKET IS BACK... BUT WHERE’S THE DOG?

-

THE temperature was just a few degrees above freezing. It was a day for overcoats and gloves. It had to be the opening day of the domestic cricket season. Warwickshire were playing Durham MCCU at Edgbaston and the rustiness showed as they lost both openers in the first four overs. But old hands Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott, both of whom scored centuries, got their heads down to rescue the situation. Wrapped up against the bitter cold, one man watched from one of the vast open stands. Clearly his dog didn’t fancy it!
