WHEATER QUITS ENGLAND ... AFTER WINNING 0 CAPS!
IN the spirit of April Fool’s Day, Bolton defender David Wheater took to Instagram yesterday to announce his retirement from international duty. The 31-year-old (left) never played for England’s senior side but did win 11 caps for the Under 21s, scoring one goal. Wheater posted: ‘A tough decision but I’ve decided to retire from international football to prolong my club career. I wish the team all the best in the World Cup.’ With Bolton just five points above the drop zone, at least he’ll be able to concentrate on the relegation battle...
