Corbyn at event where far-Left crowd ‘ booed names of Jews’
JEREMY Corbyn was engulfed in a fresh anti-Semitism row after he last night attended an event hosted by a far- Left group that has called for the destruction of Israel.
The Jewdas group reportedly dismissed the Labour anti-Semitism scandal as a ‘cynical manipulation’ and labelled the party leader’s Jewish critics ‘non- Jews’.
A leaked audio recording allegedly reveals the Labour leader was present at the event in his Islington constituency where guests reportedly shouted: ‘ F*** capitalism,’ and booed the names of mainstream Jews.
Mr Corbyn is said to have brought beetroot from his own allotment as a gift.
The revelation, reported by the Guido Fawkes political website, comes as pressure builds on Mr Corbyn to deal with Labour anti-Semitism. Earlier yesterday Mr Corbyn had told Channel 4 News there was ‘genuine concern’ about the issue.
The fringe Jewish group has reportedly tweeted that ‘Israel is itself a steaming pile of sewage which needs to be properly disposed of’. It is said to have dismissed the Labour antiSemitism scandal as a ‘bout of faux-outrage’ and ‘the work of cynical manipulations by people whose express loyalty is to the Conservative Party and the Right wing of the Labour Party’.
In a blog post on its website four days ago, it reportedly labelled Jewish Chronicle editor Stephen Pollard a ‘non- Jew’. It came as Momentum criticised Labour’s failure to deal with anti-Semitism. The group – set up by Corbyn supporters – warned the issue was more widespread than thought and complaints had not been dealt with in a ‘sufficiently decisive, swift and transparent manner’.
The organisation yesterday
‘Not only a few bad apples’
said the problem should not be dismissed as ‘ Right- wing smears… or conspiracies’ and acknowledged the ‘anger, upset and despair within the British Jewish community at the numerous cases of antiSemitism in the Labour Party’.
‘Current examples of anti- Semitism within the Labour Party are not only a problem of a few, extreme “bad apples” but also of unconscious bias which manifests itself in varied, nuanced and subtle ways and is more widespread in the Labour Party than many of us had understood even a few months ago,’ a statement said.
Ex- general secretary Lord Triesman compared Labour’s tolerance of anti-Semitism to the failure to confront fascism before the rise of Hitler.
He told The Times the party risked a ‘1930s outcome’ unless it did more to combat the ‘really serious problem’.
Yesterday, Labour suspended a local council candidate who questioned the Holocaust and accused Jews of plotting 9/11. The party dropped Roy Smart, who had been standing in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, after he retweeted a link to a ‘Holocaust deprogramming course’.
In another post, Mr Smart shared a video captioned: ‘Rothschild’s Jewish mafia agents planned and executed the demolition of three World Trade Center Buildings are mass murdered almost 3,000 Americans.’
At least ten sitting councillors or candidates contesting seats for Labour at local elections next month have been reported to the party over anti-Semitism, according to website BuzzFeed.
Last night a spokesman for Mr Corbyn said: ‘Jeremy was invited to a Passover Seder with Jewish members of his local community.’
