Stab victim begs police for help before dying in street
A YOUNG man died after being stabbed in London last night – as the capital’s murder toll soared further.
The victim approached police officers on patrol in Hackney, east London, and begged them for help.
The officers provided first aid but the man died about half an hour later at the scene.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman: ‘Shortly before 8pm, officers on patrol on Link Street in Hackney were approached by a man suffering from stab injuries. Officers immediately provided the man with first aid.
‘The London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance attended.
‘The man, who is believed to be aged in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene at 8.24pm. The victim’s next of kin have yet to be informed. A crime scene remains in place. There have been no arrests.’
