NARROW FACE
JULIa KaY, 64, is a partner in a printing machine accessories business. She is married to Brian, 69, a lecturer in finance. Living in tunbridge Wells, Kent, they have two children and two grandchildren. I hAD no problems with my eyes until 15 years ago, when I found myself gradually holding my book further and further away from my face, as longsightedness set in and I found it increasingly difficult to focus close up.
Getting reading glasses didn’t bother me, but I found it irritating having to carry them around or forgetting to put them in my bag.
I prefer slightly quirky styles. People have always admired my eyes, which have gone from dark brown to a light hazel green as I’ve got older. I want to highlight them, but wonder whether this feline shape might be a bit too wide for my face. I thought the plain brown glasses, the Aurora Marcasite (£125), were a little boring — I’m quite a wacky person, and the gold at the side seems a bit ageing. But perhaps it’s time to consider a more sober style.
BIANCA SAYS: Julia has striking colouring and stunning eyes, but the extreme cateye style is too wide for her narrow face. She wanted a bold style, so this soft rectangular frame has jewelled detailing on the side arms to bring attention to her eyes and widen her face.
