Mkhitaryan faces injury KO

- KIERAN GILL

ARSENAL fear that Henrikh Mkhitaryan faces weeks on the sidelines with a medial knee-ligament injury. Mkhitaryan went off in Thursday night’s Europa League win over CSKA Moscow and will miss the visit of Southampton tomorrow. The initial prognosis is not positive and manager Arsene Wenger revealed yesterday that the winger may have suffered ligament damage. ‘Micki came off and he will be out for Sunday,’ Wenger said. ‘He has a scan and the fear is that his medial knee ligament has been touched. We’ll know more about that soon. For how long he will be out, I don’t know.’ Wenger is also concerned over the future of Aaron Ramsey,

urging his club to tie the Welsh midfielder down to a new longterm contract with his current deal expiring next summer. ‘We are communicating. I’m confident,’ Wenger said. ‘We want him to stay because he is one of the guys who has been here for a long time and will be an important player in the future for the club.’
