Jagger comforts ex-lover after she splits with husband
WHEN Sir Mick Jagger was joined on tour in Europe last autumn by his Brazilian former lover Luciana Gimenez, fans wondered if the wrinkly rocker was playing with fire.
After all, Jagger, 74, has a one-yearold child with his ballerina girlfriend, Melanie Hamrick, 31, while Luciana is married to media executive Marcelo de Carvalho.
Now, however, I can disclose that Luciana, a 48-year- old model and television presenter, has separated from the Brazilian businessman.
Adding to the intrigue, she has been comforted by Sir Mick, with whom she has an 18-year-old son, Lucas, at his Caribbean hideaway.
‘I was on holiday with Lucas and we had a wonderful Easter,’ reveals Luciana. ‘It’s always good to be with the children. We stayed at his father’s house because Mick is a good friend.’
Miss Hamrick is understood also to have spent time over the holidays at Jagger’s villa on Mustique, Stargroves, but it’s not clear if she was there at the same time as Miss Gimenez.
Mick enjoys an ‘open’ relationship with Mel, one of his friends tells me.
Last October, Luciana joined the singer in Paris, where the Rolling Stones were performing. Sir Mick has admitted that he partied hard on the tour, during which he was also linked with striking Kuwaiti-American heiress Noor Alfallah, 22.
‘On the last tour, I did make one or two mistakes,’ he said. ‘I got a bit overexuberant on the aftershow front.’
Luciana, whose surname was then Morad, conceived Lucas during a brief fling with Jagger while he was on tour in Brazil. Their affair spelt doom for Jagger’s marriage to Texan model Jerry Hall, his second wife.
Luciana also has a seven-year- old son, Lorenzo, with Marcelo. Speaking of their estrangement, she says: ‘I’m not going out much. I’m in a reflective moment of my life. I think I’m going to become a lesbian — I’m kidding! It’s going to be all right.’
Melanie lives in New York, where she combines dancing for the American Ballet Theatre with raising their son, Deveraux, who is Jagger’s eighth child. Remarkably, Deveraux is younger than the old goat’s great-granddaughter.
