The Generation Game gap
WHY take popular TV shows from the past and revive them with presenters who don’t seem to understand what made them so enjoyable in the first place?
The Generation Game used to be good, all-round family entertainment. however, its two new presenters, Sue Perkins and Mel Giedroyc, want to be the centre of attention rather than the contestants. It’s a real turn-off.
Likewise, watching Through The Keyhole used to be fun as you tried to guess who lived in the house featured. That was until the spoof comedian Keith Lemon took over as presenter and ruined the show by fooling around and making pointless comments rather than giving sensible clues. P. F. BRYANT, Salisbury, Wilts. The new Generation Game is typical of what the BBC does best — wasting hundreds of thousands of pounds on celebrities no one cares about, and blingy sets, while spending peanuts on the prizes.
