Band lift is an easy confidence booster
A BAND bath lift can make a big difference to your bathing confidence and is easily fitted by an installer in about an hour. It consists of a fabric band on a roller which retracts into a wall-fixed unit. The band pulls out, runs across the bath rim and slots into a floor-mounted bracket. A battery - powered motor gently rotates the roller, letting out the band and lowering the user into the bath. The roller is rotated in the reverse direction to lift the user up. Some include a useful wall-fixed grab rail. The bather just needs to be able to lift their legs over the side of the bath when sliding onto the reinforced polypropylene band, and to be able to sit up without a backrest as it lowers. The big advantage of this lift is that the belt lowers the user right down to the bottom of the bath, giving the freedom to lie back and enjoy a relaxing soak. And when the band is withdrawn into the unit, the bath is clear of equipment and can be used by others in the household.
