Castleford: We let down fans

-

CASTLEFORD coach Daryl Powell says his players joked about giving their fans half of their admission money back following a dismal second-half display at Huddersfield. The Tigers were in total control at half-time when they led 28-6 against an injury-hit Giants side, but they were left hanging on for a 40-28 victory after the home team staged a tremendous fightback after the break. Powell said: ‘It’s a little bit disappointing. We’re ticking along alright in terms of picking up points but we’re not playing that great. ‘We just had a good chat about it in the changing rooms. The players are as frustrated as our fans will be and as I am. ‘We talked about giving the fans half their money back I think, we’re only giving them 40 minutes of value at the moment.’ Kallum Watkins scored two tries as Super League champions Leeds inflicted a fifth straight defeat on Wakefield by edging a thriller 28-26.
