SAME OLD BLUES ‘BORE’ BOSS

- ADAM CRAFTON at Stamford Bridge

CHELSEA manager Antonio Conte told his team he was bored of telling them to take their chances and said their wastefulness would cost them a Champions League place. Chelsea have now won only three Premier League games in 2018 and have just seven wins from their past 20 games in all competitions. Conte said: ‘You must be clinical and score. Football is simple. If you score, you win. Otherwise, if you score only once, you stay in the balance — especially in England. I’m repeating this many times and I’m getting bored. You’re listening always to the same: not clinical. ‘I’m very frustrated and I hope my players go home and stay frustrated because, in this way, we have the right mentality. Otherwise, if we accept this result and say we were unlucky today, we are not building anything positive for the future.’ Chelsea are now 10 points behind Tottenham with six games to go and their hopes of elite European football next season are dwindling. Conte added: ‘We must be realistic. If we are not able to win this type of game, we are talking about what? I like to continue to say, “We need to continue to work and improve”, but you must win this game if you want to reach a place in the Champions League. Because the other teams are clinical.’ Javier Hernandez believes he is making it difficult for David Moyes to leave him out of West Ham’s starting XI after coming off the bench to snatch a point. ‘You need to be very clever, very focused to stop a very good side like Chelsea,’ Hernandez told Sky Sports. ‘Thankfully we got one point which gives us a lot of confidence and we have our next final against Stoke next week. The most important thing is we get one point and keep adding more points to fight away from the relegation zone. ‘I’m making it difficult for him (Moyes) when he decides who starts.’
