Fury: I’ll beat AJ easily

- By JEFF POWELL

TYSON FURY announced his resurrection yesterday and proclaimed that he could beat Anthony Joshua tomorrow. Oh, and Deontay Wilder the day after, by the way.

Not that Frank Warren will allow him to return that hurriedly.

Having signed Fury to a new multifight contract the promoter outlined a four-fight strategy for the Gypsy King to reclaim his heavyweight throne, starting in Manchester on June 9. Fury nodded but said: ‘When it happens they will be easy fights for me. I’m happy for Joshua’s success but his style is perfect for me. I would outbox him for a few rounds and then knock him out.

‘Wilder is the best of the two champions at the moment but the pair of them put together are not a patch on Mike Tyson and don’t punch like he did. While they are sluggers, I’m like Floyd Mayweather, the embodiment of the sweet science of hitting but not getting hit.’

Fury revealed that he keeps in frequent contact with Joshua and Wilder ‘because we all should fight each other, we all want to fight each other and the day is coming when we will all fight each other so that I can prove I am the real world heavyweight champion’.

He added: ‘I’m stronger and faster than ever. Don’t forget I’m still only 29. With the fires burning inside me again I feel like a lion released from captivity and into the wild.’
