Jose has run out of excuses

JOSE MOURINHO accused his players of being ‘on the moon’ after losing to the Premier League’s bottom side West Brom. He talked about their poor attitude and said they were too complacent and too relaxed.

Mourinho has been in the job a long time and that is not a good enough excuse from a Manchester united point of view. Not at all.

That is him passing the buck. Mourinho has to take a bit of personal responsibility for this.

You look at the signings Mourinho has made. The likes of Paul Pogba — he has been a show pony. He’s turned up sometimes during his united career — the second time around — but you have to look at the top and at Mourinho.

united fans are going to be deeply unhappy with what has happened. That performance against West Brom was nowhere near good enough. Mourinho is the man at the helm, and it is not like he has just walked into this job. You have to be careful calling out players. Take some responsibility for yourself!

It was an unusual performance after beating City. If you were a fan you would have been expecting far more. You would have thought about turning up against West Brom, blowing them away and going into next season in a positive mindset. But that was desperately flat. That has dampened spirits.

Will united now go on to win the FA Cup? That’s a tall order. If they don’t there will be the same old questions of whether they can get back to what they were under Sir Alex Ferguson.
