SO, WHO IS BENJAMIN GARRE?

The 17-year-old forward joined Manchester City from Argentinian club Velez Sarsfield in July 2016.

City beat Manchester United and Barcelona to sign him. He said: ‘I won’t let this opportunity with City pass. Every player dreams of it. It’s a gift from God.’

City’s website describes him as a wide man ‘with pace and trickery in abundance. Naturally left-footed and blessed with great technique’.

Garre featured in the Checkatrade Trophy this season, scoring against Rotherham.

He has played for Argentina at Under 15 and Under 17 level and has trained with the senior players. ÷ His grandfather Oscar was in the Argentina squad that won the World Cup in 1986.
