PASSING TIME

Why is it that as one grows old, Time seems to move so fast? Much quicker than it used to do In youthful years long past.

As kids, the wait for Christmas Day Entailed much stress and strain, But now it seems about six months Before it’s here again.

Birthdays, without doubt, come round More often than they should, Which means that one is aging far Too quickly for one’s good.

A week consists of seven days, Which sometimes feel like four If time could only stretch a bit, One could do so much more.

Right now I’m getting set to go And meet friends for a date, Good grief, that’s surely not the time! I’m going to be late.
