Production line at Tesla delayed
FLAMBOYANT entrepreneur Elon Musk has suspended production of his Tesla Model 3 electric car.
The firm’s California plant has paused manufacturing for five days while it seeks to improve efficiency. It hopes to churn out 5,000 cars a month by this summer but is managing 2,000 at present.
Musk, who is hailed as a visionary by supporters and also owns a rocket company which aims to reach Mars, has warned that overreliance on robots is causing problems at his Tesla factory.
He described it as a ‘manufacturing hell’.
Musk added that trying to keep human involvement in production to a minimum had actually slowed down the process.
