Everton ask fans if Sam is hero or zero

- By DOMINIC KING

EVERTON supporters have been asked to rate Sam Allardyce’s ability to get the best out of their team and rate his performance out of 10. A survey has been emailed by the club to the ‘Fans’ Panel’ as part of a programme to see how closely they feel connected to Everton. Supporters are asked: ‘How high is the level of trust in the current manager and coaching staff of Everton in making the right decisions to get the best out of the team?’ Everton send out surveys several times a year to their fan base. The marking system goes from zero to 10. The question will trigger huge debate, with many seeing it as a major embarrassment for the manager. The 63-year-old replaced Ronald Koeman in November and has guided the club to safety and ninth place in the Premier League. But Allardyce has been criticised heavily by Evertonians. He has struggled to gain an affinity with fans who were already ambivalent about his appointment. He came under fire from away fans after the 1-1 draw at Swansea on Saturday.
