Life on the road is full of rewards

- LW

YOU can enjoy a life on the road with a mobile franchise — but it takes a lot more than driving a van.

James Rygor, a mechanic who wanted to work for himself, invested in a Snap-on tools franchise in 2014 and now sells tools to mechanics in the South Bristol area.

James says: ‘I never saw myself as a salesman, but Snap-on training gave me confidence. We covered sales techniques, product knowledge and then I had someone with me on my van to help me learn the role.’

Lisa Law, national franchise manager for Snap-on, says: ‘People buy from people, so the most important things are being passionate about what you do and offering the best customer experience.’ Investment is £24,143.

Van franchises also offer the chance to be a manager. Mike Haselden, 39, had been running a Revive! franchise, a mobile paint repairs service, in Cheshire, but says: ‘After a few years, I saw the chance to expand and now manage a team of four drivers, and in 2017 was the Revive! Franchisee of the Year.’ Investment is £23,500.

For Snap-on, call 01235 831 053; Revive 01788 569999.
