novelist martin Amis doesn’t seem to have made much of an impression on Donald Trump or his family. Elizabeth Spiers, former New York Observer editor whose boss was Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, recalls his reaction to her putting Amis on the cover of the newspaper after the writer moved to Brooklyn in 2011. Spiers recalls: ‘Jared came up to me a few day later and said, “What is the deal with that cover story? Why are we doing pieces on this guy? I just don’t get it. Nobody knows who martin Amis is.” ’
