Gold-plated pension

A FORMER Met officer suggests that if people in the private sector had paid the same as he had into a pension scheme, they wouldn’t be complaining about two-tier retirement (Letters).

What he ignores is the fact that many people did pay into pensions only for the scheme to go bust — something he never had to worry about.
