£100m Pizza Hut sale

ThE boss of Pizza hut in the uK is closing in on a deal to buy the chain from its owners.

The business, which has 260 outlets, will change hands for more than £100m. Jens hofma, who has run Pizza hut uK since 2009, is leading the buyout team, according to Sky News.

It comes as a string of restaurant chains battle for survival. hofma, a 51-yearold Dutchman, is backed by uS investor Pricoa.

A deal could be struck as early as today more than two years after the current owner, rutland Partners, hired advisers to find a buyer. Pizza hut uK’s fortunes have been revived under hofma, who has overseen an expensive modernisat­ion programme.
