The model daughter of a Holby City star was the first person to be killed by new party drug 2C-P, a court heard.

Louella Fletcher-Michie, 25 – the child of actor John Michie – died after taking the psychedelic substance at a music festival last year.

Her boyfriend, Ceon Broughton, from enfield, north London, has been charged with supplying the drug and yesterday appeared at Winchester Crown Court accused of manslaughter.

Miss Fletcher-Michie’s body was found in a wooded area near Lulworth Cove, Dorset, at 1am on September 11.

In the hours before her death, she had been at the Bestival music festival with friends and her rapper boyfriend Broughton.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Miss Fletcher-Michie had taken 2C-P, ketamine and MDMA, an inquest had earlier heard. Little has been reported on 2C-P, a hallucinogenic drug which has been compared to LSD and comes in tablet or powder form.

Drugs advice website talk to Frank said users taking high doses of 2C-P can feel confused, agitated and in some cases propelled into a delirious state. the charity added that the drugs may cause panic attacks and in some cases ‘acute psychosis’.

Richard thomas, defending, told the court: ‘there have been no deaths from this drug before.’

Broughton, 29, is accused of manslaughter by gross negligence and three counts of supplying the class-A drug at both the Bestival and Glastonbury festivals.

Miss Fletcher-Michie’s on- off boyfriend of several years spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and nationality during the hearing. He has not yet entered pleas to the charges.

the trial, expected to last four weeks, is likely to begin early next year. Adjourning the case for a pretrial hearing on July 20, Judge Keith Cutler said: ‘I adjourn your case over, I renew your bail without conditions. It’s always a condition of bail not to commit any criminal offences so, please, no drugs.’

In a statement shortly after Miss Fletcher-Michie’s death, her family said: ‘Our hearts are broken by this horrific tragedy. Louella inspired all who knew her with her joy of life. the family would like to thank everyone for their heartfelt tributes and messages.’

Miss Fletcher-Michie’s friend Morgan elliott described the model as the girl ‘who was friends with everyone’. Writing for a student website, he said she was ‘one of the kindest, most generous, loving, and spectacular human beings I had ever come across’.

Mr Michie, 61, previously acted in crime drama taggart and also starred in Coronation Street.

He said of his daughter: ‘She touched so many lives. She was so very positive, so bright, so out there. She had such energy.’

Miss Fletcher-Michie was the actor’s youngest child with his wife Carol Fletcher – a former singer in the band Hot Gossip. they have two other children, Daisy and Sam.
