Cars registered to women have surged by more than a fifth (21 per cent) since 2007, with women now owning more than a third of UK cars, according to data from Motorparc, released by trade body The Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders.
That’s double the 10 per cent increase in the number of men buying a car over the same period.
TV presenter Ginny Buckley, (pictured above) motoring editor for Good Housekeeping and Carbuyer magazines, says: ‘The female influence in car buying is even greater, as women have the most say in about 85 per cent of purchases when choosing a car with a partner.’
