FOR GEORGE, IT’S CLEARLY A VERY SERIOUS BUSINESS

-

PRINCE George seemed rather daunted when he arrived at the hospital yesterday to meet his baby brother for the first time.

Perhaps the four-year-old was a little tired, having spent the day at school before heading for the hospital.

While his sister Charlotte gave the waiting crowd a cheerful wave, George kept his eyes firmly on the ground as he was led into the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s by Prince William

George is, according to Kate, a slightly shyer and more hesitant child than his mischievous little sister.

His father did whisper to him to look up and smile, but the little boy, clearly overwhelmed by all the attention, determinedly refused to tear his eyes from the pavement, apart from one quick glance to check that the cameras were, indeed, still there.

George had attended his school – Thomas’s, Battersea – during the day before returning home for a snack while he waited for his father to pick him up. He was wearing the private school’s summer uniform of shorts, a blue blouse and regulation navy and red jumper. It is just three years ago that George was pictured arriving at the same hospital wing to meet his sister.
