Top doctors took charge
THE royal baby was delivered by the same doctors as his siblings, George and Charlotte.
Consultant obstetrician Guy Thorpe-Beeston and consultant gynaecologist Alan Farthing were the two senior clinicians overseeing the birth.
Mr Farthing, 55, started assisting the Queen’s former surgeongynaecologist, Sir Marcus Setchell, in 2008. Five years later he took over when Sir Marcus retired.
He was engaged to BBC presenter Jill Dando when she was shot dead in April 1999. A pioneer of keyhole surgery, he specialises in gynaecological cancer. Mr Thorpe- Beeston is surgeon-gynaecologist to the Royal Household.
