Wash hands after touching light switch
Another reason to wash your hands regularly at work: the bugs on light switches can cause stomach upsets and those on your keyboard a sore throat.
Scientists in Warsaw, Poland, took 130 samples from commonly used office surfaces and found a greater concentration of respiratory viruses on keyboards, phones and desktops, and noroviruses, which cause stomach bugs, on door handles and light switches.
As they reported in the journal Food and environmental Virology, regular handwashing and cleaning surfaces with disinfectants should reduce the possibility of virus transactions and infections among office workers.
