Not the kind of birdie he was after
GOLFERS face many hazards – landing in the rough, losing the ball, getting stuck in a bunker... Now we can add geese to the list.
These pictures show what happened to 16year-old Isaac Couling when he angered a goose as he played in a school tournament.
After Isaac (pictured inset) strayed too close to the bird’s nest, it gave chase and knocked him over before delivering a series of painful pecks as he cowered on the grass.
The teenager managed to get up and make a run for it, only to trip and fall again.
One onlooker said: ‘To the left there was a goose nest and the golfers did a good job of avoiding it but the guard goose thought differently. The goose came from behind him and caught him off guard. He was keeping an eye on the other goose at the time.’
Fortunately, Isaac was able to continue his round with only his pride injured after the unexpected interruption on the course near the city of Adrian in Michigan.
